Hit the ground in NYC about two hours ago with sea water still in my hair. Technically, my birthday. MJ's too. Good luck to everybody hitting the Spike Lee block party tomorrow in Prospect Park, weather and the pretty inevitable crowding issues are keeping me the hell away from all that. In any case, a badass vacation.
It's fucked up that DJ AM (WHO FOR REAL COMMENTED ON THIS BLOG ONCE, NO JOKE) went and overdosed like that. I dunno. Dude got a free pass a few months back with that jet shit, and it's terrible that the aftermath went down like that. There are reeeal sick people out there that would kill for the second chance he got, and homeboy still fucked it up. And he was a good producer! His Fix Your Face mixes produced alongside Travis Barker are free, legal, and a good place to start for the curious. So, respek. But drugs like that are for fucking retards.

AM was no retard.. I thought the same thing before about people addicted to something but It's a fucked up disease.
Agreed. AM was no retard. But I've lost people to drugs too, and it's may way of coping to have zero fucking patience for people that make the active choice- even if it's only the first time- to try that shit.
I've been very lucky to try what I have and walk away okay. But there are people who can't. AM was one of them, and anger in place of sadness at someone so talented pissing their life away like that isn't so out of line. Again, just my way of coping.
