Antony Hegarty's androgynous chamber pop baritone injected an exciting bit of melodrama into 2008's headiest dance record, DFA's self titled Hercules and Love Affair LP, and I find myself wishing of late that the man would embrace those freaky, Boy George-y cabaret roots of his a little more often.

When I hear Andrew Bulter state that the new Hercules and Love Affair disk will feature a whole new roster of artists and collaborators, it's hard not recall the milquetoast sophomore releases from similar projects like Handsome Boy Modeling School- so for now, I find middle ground and solace with a splendid Beyonce cover from a 2007 tour recording.
