Did you know that Santogold changed her stage name to Santigold NOT because she was born Santi White, but because she was sued by this guy? I'm all for picking your battles and everything, but Jesus- that's like Lil' Wayne dropping his name after being sued by Wayne Moscone, the surly, short guy that sorts recyclables down at the package store. (It works out great though, because I can claim that I've not editing my post tags out of solidarity instead of sloth.)
Today, a follow up to last week's Adele/Strokes cover as Ms. White puts her singular, subterranean spin on "Hometown Glory", one of the more devastating tracks off Adkin's 19. Reflective and epic, "Glory" is a modern standard of sorts; the perfect screen for a fresh voice to project their past and present upon. Ups to Live Lounge.
