amfmpm Exclusive: Live Lykke Feat. Bon Iver!

Man, I probably haven't said "TGIF" and meant it since ABC was actually airing TGIF. Back in middle school, I had the hottest date in town come Friday night thanks to Sabrina the Teenage Witch- my love for Melissa Joan Hart knew no bounds. Come to think of it, neither did my love for Lindsay Sloane. Or Jenna Leigh Green. (Or Caroline Rhea.)

With that in mind, hey everybody! TGIF! Eat one, last six days! It wouldn't be a month @ am.fm.pm w/o some indie Swede love, so for the warm weekend, I've two exclusive Lykke Li mp3s: an elastic live version of "Dance Dance Dance" performed with Justin Vernon and the Bon Iver crew, and a concert rip of Li making palatable a breakout track by one of my least favorite bands* in the world. Now get outside, kids! It's great!

Lykke Li & Bon Iver "Dance Dance Dance (Live)"

Lykke Li "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa" (Live Vampire Weekend Cover)

* Vampire Weekend are the epitome of indie-yuppie horsehit, cribbing the most ephemeral, inconsequential trappings of punk and afrobeat and peddling it- their thin, toe tapping, vanilla wafer fart jive- to the Kennebunkport crowd as "the real thing" so cartoonishly that they're basically the Monkees as poulated by four copies of R. Crumb's "White Man".

Enjoy!

I'm sorry, but both these tracks are utterly farking atrocious. And I really like both Lykke & Iver. As they say, 95% of anything is complete garbage, and you win my weekly award for the most head-splitting crap I wasted 5 minutes on. Yes, I was curious just how shitty two talented acts could sound. I pray this is the utter low point in both their careers. And sheist, but Lykke's voice is Definitely leaving something to be MAJORLY desired on her live tracks. Oh poo. "Shut 'er down boys!" I certainly hope you have the guts to respond to me, "FARK YOU!"

I dunno, I think the collab track is rubbery, breezy fun. And thankfully, these aren't your friends dicking around on guitar at a party, so you don't have to fake a "guys, that was sooo good".

okay bibbuy

the track with bon iver is much more fun if you watch the video that goes along with it.
