Out of San Jose this season comes ¡Me Gusta! and their Remixtape Vol. 1, a brief yet cavernous compilation of the crew's facile southern rap remixes. A singular voice of retro-futurism backdrops the disk's six tracks like lasers in an elementary school photo, and the collection is choice to serve as usher from summer days of jam kicking to the electric Autumn crispness that's hit New York this past week.
Remixtape is available for free D/L at the duo's MySpace page (linked above), and below, hit two of the tape's standouts: a hot, somnolent edit of Ying Yang Twins' Sesame Street-referencing ode to ass shaking, and a "been around" Weezy/Birdman re-up that tastes like a Windham Hill track fucked up on wine and Cortacin HBP.
Ying Yang Twins "Jigglin' (¡Me Gusta! Bitch With No Assness Remix)"
Birdman & Lil' Wayne "Pop Bottles (¡Me Gusta! Chandon Remix)"
Me Gusta ¡Me Gusta! y Otoño; Regretting the fact that I took Latin instead of Spanish in High School.
