Wossamatta Wossamatta Wossamatta U!

When then 23 year old Rivers Cuomo first posed the question "What's with these homies dissing my girl" back in 1994, Top 40 radio got the first taste of tongue in cheek college rock lyricism it had seen in some time. It's a trend that has long since flirted with it's own nadir, prevalent still if only for the reliably sarcastic and apathetic attitudes of American music listeners between the ages of 12 and 30.

Fourteen years after the fact, DJ Tripp has totally kicked the legs out from underneath any irony the lyric still held with his latest track, "B.U.D.D.Y." The carefully clumsy bass of Justice's own "D.A.N.C.E." remix carries Cuomo and Co. a long a way from Frat Row, and suddenly all the kids rocking horn rim glasses and Kid Robot tees have a pretty slick back to school jam guaranteed to get that cute girl who doesn't listen to rockabilly (but dresses like she does) to dance like, right next to them all night.
