Now that the hyper freshness of Ed Banger v3. has dropped, it's about time someone bothered mashing MSTRKRFT over Justice. (Don't fret. A fresh Gaspard/Xavier mix is coming midweek.) With a simple up-pitch of Jesse Keeler & Al-P's "Easy Love" off The Looks, Manchester's Reborn Identity provides one of the more effortless culture jams in recent memory- Ashford and Simpson's Mowtown standard (via Marvin & Tammi) gets proper digitized with a tongue in cheek call and answer betwixt the tracks for a wayyy bompin' summer jam. It's not like Detroit and Toronto are all that far from one another in the the first place, but it's impossible not to feel the heartfelt hat tip to the original Motown sound here: More bass, more drums, and an undeniable worldliness.
Like Hitsville USA itself, it'll be there- albeit years before anybody else catches up.
