New Jamz: El Barto & Liam B Do Chromeo

As a grossly ill informed American, I declare that there are officially two cool things coming out of Poland right now: Leopard roadsters, and producer/DJs El Barto & Liam B. The XFM bastard pop regulars unleashed their take on P-Thugg and Dave 1's Fancy Footwork deep cut "Call Me Up" this past week, and while my heart shall forever beat for "Tenderoni", their liberal dizzy sizzle proves a fine filter for an already banging track.

You remember how by the late 90's, every Top 40 rock song had that Sugar Ray-style "wikka wikka" table scratch in it? Between T-Pain, the new Snoop LP, and general prevalence of shitty live vocalists, the Talk Box is straying into dangerously similar territory. What makes Chromeo so particularly badass is not that they were first to strike the iron- but that save that single device, they manage to avoid all the "of the moment" trappings of their contemporaries. (And Dave 1 is A-Trak's older brother. Which is pretty cool too.)
