You know we got yo' back like Chiroprac.

Andre Benjamin (a.k.a. Andre 3000, Chamelio Salamander, Cupid Valentino, Possum Jenkins, and Dookie Blossumgame III) wears a lot of hats. I don't mean he overextends himself as an actor, rapper, producer and star of his own Cartoon Network series, or thug dandy about town- I literally mean he wears a lot of hats. Like headwear. Turbans, helmets, and Tam O' Shanters enough to smartly cap his afro puffs however he sees fit. Those of us that have been trying to bite Dre's style since he rocked that rainbow grass pant/linebacker shoulder pad thing in the "Rosa Parks" video will have our work cut out for us this Fall with the launch of his new menswear line, Benjamin Bixby.

Consisting of 70 pieces inspired 1930's American football wear, 3000 describes the Bixby man as "a character who’s kind of like your uncle, or your granddad, and he has a closet full of experiences and clothes, and he’s been around the world." The collection was previewed by a small V.I.P. group during GQ's fashion week party, not on a runway, but in a simple hotel room. Entirely self funded, Benjamin is actively seeking a partner for the line, and is in talks to release the collection at Barney's this fall.

That pink sweater right there is the only image from the line available online at the moment, but it gives you a good idea where his head is at. (Now if only he'd delegate design duties to some other members of the Dungeon Family. I wanna see a Cee Lo peacoat.)

In keeping with am.fm.pm tradition, I'm about six months behind schedule on my contemporary hip hop. Listening to my backed up Fader Suite mixtapes this past weekend, I have come to the conclusion that Andre's rhyme at the beginning of UGK's "Int'l Players' Anthem" is just about the freshest Goddamn thing I've heard in my entire life.
