With Election fever in full swing, am.fm.pm would like to take a moment to look closely at the candidates in what is already one of the most hotly contested Presidential campaign seasons in memory. Problem is, uh... I'm not particularly political. I am however, more than adept at making lame Muppet jokes, so today the site would like to present our fantasy casting for the never-to-be-made film Muppets Take New Hampshire. First up?
Recent Law and Order cast departure and former lobbyist Fred Thompson will be played by the curmudgeonly Statler:
Youth favorite candidate Barack Obama will be played by the hopelessly square Bert:
Former First Lady Hillary Clinton will be played by southern do-gooder Prairie Dawn:
Former New York mayor and 9/11 namedropper Rudy Giuliani will be played by Count Von Count (Nine! Eleven! Ah ah ah.):
And lastly, Mormon candidate and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney will be played by beloved game show host Guy Smiley:
Stay tuned to am.fm.pm for more blatant conceptual gag ripoffs from Late Night. (The worst!) In other news, the New York Times is reporting that our country shouldn't actually be named "America" after all. Nice.

The Muppets "Sax And Violence"
